Before Your MRI Scan
When you arrive at our imaging center, our staff will greet you, review your paperwork, and answer any questions. You may be asked to change into a gown and remove any metal objects including jewelry, piercings, and hair accessories.
Our technologist will ask about any metal implants, medical devices, or conditions that may affect your MRI safety. Please be honest and complete in your answers.
During the Scan
You will lie on a padded table that slides into the MRI machine. The machine is a large, cylindrical tube open on both ends. You will need to remain still during the scan to ensure clear images.
MRI machines make loud knocking and tapping sounds during the scan — this is completely normal. We provide earplugs and can play music to make the experience more comfortable. Most scans take 30-60 minutes.
After Your MRI
After the scan, you can resume normal activities immediately. There is no recovery time needed for a standard MRI.
Our board-certified radiologist will review your images and send a detailed report to your physician within 24 hours.
